The My Little Pony Merry-Go-Round Game!

One of the main reasons for why the 1980s is the greatest decade in the history of time (Note: If you disagree, please go to Phoenix.edu and enroll in Get A Fucking Clue 101, because you obviously need more education) is that it gave us gloriously gay objects of pure gayness. Everything involving the world of My Little Pony falls under that, especially this My Little Pony Merry-Go-Round game from 1985.

I completely forgot about it until reader Martin nominated it for HSOTD. The dried-up pony turd I call a brain remembers the commercial, sort of, and when I looked for it on YouTube, I came up with nothing. Just when you think the internet is a time capsule of everything, you find out that it doesn’t have a commercial for the My Little Pony Merry-Go-Round game on it. Shut the internet down, the bitch failed.

But the MLP fan site Ponyland Express has important details, like the extremely complex rules and goal of the game.

Each player gets 4 cards (one for each pony) and a score sheet. Before each turn, every player chooses one card to place face-down. The player whose turn it is then spins the merry-go-round, and when it stops, one of four colors will display through the merry-go-round windows.

Anybody whose face-down card matches the color displaying through the windows may use the pony of that color to stamp his/her score sheet.

Be the first to get eight stamps on your score sheet.

A spinning merry-go-round and pretty colors displaying through windows… If it lit up and spewed out orange juice, it’d be a raver-on-E’s dream game.

I’d like to think that the creators of the MLP Merry-Go-Round game knew that in the future the Bronies would exist and so that’s why that board could double as a spinning butt plug.
