If you’re a bottle of hair gummies that live in Katharine McPhee’s medicine cabinet, go ahead and roll into the nearest FabFitFun box and throw all of yourselves into the trash, because her days of hustling sponsored Instagram content might be over. TMZ is reporting that she’s engaged to David Foster, the Canadian music-making multi-millionaire and former husband of Yolanda Foster.
TMZ posted that completely natural picture of 68-year-old David looking at the engagement ring he gave 34-year-old Katharine while in Capri. Sources say she was showing off her engagement ring to friends and family over FaceTime on Sunday. Katharine’s rep Leslie Sloan confirmed the engagement to TMZ, and she confirmed it herself by tweeting this:

Katharine and David have never really confirmed their relationship. They were seen on a date a little over a year ago, which was followed by a denial from her, saying they’re “close friends.” After seven months of dating, they were finally spotted kissing, which could be considered a confirmation if that does it for you. The only one who was really doing any talking was David’s adult daughter Erin Gibson, who called David and Katharine her “parents.”
This will be Katharine’s second marriage. She was previously married to Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016 (about six months into her separation, she was caught making out with her married Smash director, Michael Morris). Katharine will be David’s fifth wife. He was previously married to Yolanda, of course, as well as Linda Thompson, Rebecca Dyer, and B.J. Cook. His youngest daughter, Jordan Foster, is two years younger than Katharine McPhee. I’m not pointing that out to be shady, I’m mentioning it because it shows great restraint on David’s part. He’s rich, famous, and almost 70; he truly beat the odds by not proposing to someone younger than his children.
This is great news for both Katharine and David. Come on, don’t act so surprised – I’m not totally cold-hearted, I still believe in love and I can barely contain my excitement for Katharine. Congratulations, Kat – what great news, a wedding you can’t get thrown out of!
