Harvey Weinstein Could Be Facing Life In Prison

July 2, 2018 / Posted by:

When Harvey Weinstein turned himself into the police last month, he was charged with rape and sexual abuse in cases involving two women in New York City. He continued to maintain that any encounters with either of the women were consensual. Harvey posted $1 million bail on a $10 million bond, and he was out to wait for his trial. I’m sure Harvey wasn’t too worried, but he’s probably soaking his XXL pants right now. According to The Blast, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance has announced they’ve got Harvey on several more charges.

The original charges against Harvey were that he allegedly forced a woman to perform oral sex on him in 2004 during a meeting in his office. The other incident allegedly happened in 2013 when Harvey allegedly “engaged in sexual intercourse” with a woman without her consent. A third woman came forward, and today, Harvey was indicted on three additional charges: forcible sexual act against a woman in 2006, as well as two other counts of predatory sexual assault. For those keeping score at home, Harvey is now being charged with the following:

2 counts of Predatory Sexual Assault (a class A-II felony)

2 counts of a Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (a class B felony)

1 count of Rape in the First Degree (a class B felony)

1 count of Rape in the Third Degree (a class E felony)

Class-A II felonies are the most serious of the charges against Harvey. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said of the new charges:

“A Manhattan Grand Jury has now indicted Harvey Weinstein on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York’s Penal Law. This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward. Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice.”

He added that the additional charges carry a minimum sentence of 10 years, and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. So far, a trial date hasn’t yet been set.

I don’t have high hopes that Harvey will get life in the big house. Then again, I honestly never thought I’d see Harvey Weinstein taken down by the gross “rumors” in my lifetime, and yet he we are. So maybe there’s a chance that jury will get filled with people who have no trouble putting Hollywood’s creepy boil away for life. I hope Harvey is practicing his smuggling and bargaining techniques now. Because I don’t know if he’ll be able to go the rest of his life without a hotel bathrobe against his skin.
