Joe Jackson Has Died
Pimp Mama Kris, Dina and Michael Lohan, and all the other pimp managers out there better raise their canes and lower the pimp feather in their pimp hat at half-mast, because one of the masters of the game is now dead. TMZ says Joe Jackson died early at around 3:30 this morning in L.A. at a hospice in Las Vegas. He was about a month away from turning 90.
Late last week, it was reported that Joe was in final stages of cancer and that family members, including his on-and-off-again wife Katherine Jackson, gathered at his hospital bed because doctors didn’t expect for him to be alive much longer. Joe may or may not have known he was close to taking his last breath, because a few days ago, this was tweeted from his Twitter account:
I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes. pic.twitter.com/PGcmbulzyC
— Joseph Jackson (@Joe5Jackson) June 24, 2018
But his granddaughter Paris Jackson slammed whoever tweeted that tweet because she says she was with Pepaw Joe all day and he never tweeted shit. So I wonder who tweeted that… (Cut to a guilty looking Randy Jackson taking a break from spilling family secrets to TMZ.)
Joe Jackson was a steel worker and wannabe musician in Gary, Indiana before he looked at his sons and realized he had himself some STAHS-in-the-making. Joe put together The Jackson Brothers, which was made up of his three eldest: Tito, Jermaine and Jackie. Marlon and Michael later joined the group, and after it became clear that Michael could yodel like a high-pitched angel, Joe changed their name to The Jackson 5. We all know what happened after that, and if you don’t, watch The Jacksons: An American Dream, if not only for Angela Bassett bringing it as Katherine.
Joe and Katherine had ten children together. Joe had one child with his longtime side piece Cheryl Terrell. Joe and Katherine split up a few times, and she filed for divorce more than once, but their 69 year marriage never officially ended until his death.
As we all know, Michael and other Jackson kids talked about how Joe regularly beat them and verbally abused them. Oprah asked Joe about this during an interview, and he offered up zero apologies, and instead pretty much said that Michael should be thanking his beatin’ hand since it made the Jackson kids stars instead of criminals.
We can all say what we want about Joe Jackson, but I will say that he did help to give the world the flawless moonstone that is LA TOYA!
