Cardi B Got Secretly Married To Offset Last Year
As far as anyone on the outside knew, Cardi B’s relationship with Migos rapper Offset was that she was his fiancée, he was her yet-to-be-born baby’s father, and they were the type who would pose on the cover of Rolling Stone with him kissing her bare-from-the-boobs-down body. What we didn’t know is that Offset is actually Cardi B’s husband, according to TMZ. We missed the wedding? What a shame, I would have loved to have bought her a toasturrrrrrrr.
While accepting the award for Best Group at the BET Awards in Los Angeles last night, Offset confused a whole lot of people watching at home by thanking his “wife.”

Wife? Who is this wife? Did he and Cardi B secretly get married while no one noticed? As it turns out, they did, and it happened months ago. TMZ claims to have found their marriage certificate, a document filed after one has proof they tied the knot. It was filed in Fulton County, GA today and lists the married parties as Kiari Kendrell Cephus (Offset) and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar (Cardi B). The date of marriage on the marriage certificate is September 20th, 2017. Which means they’ve been hitched for more than nine months. That also means Cardi B’s baby was most likely conceived in proper wedlock, for all those nosy aunts keeping score at home.
That also means Cardi deserves an Oscar for acting as surprised as she did when Offset dropped to one knee and proposed during a concert back in October. If that marriage certificate is telling the truth, then they had been married for a whole month already.
TMZ also has a few details on their wedding. Sources say that it was extremely spontaneous; Offset woke up one morning in September, turned to Cardi and said “marry me.” That same day, Offset and Cardi called up an officiant who came to their house and marry them in their bedroom. The only witness present was Cardi’s cousin. Cardi wasn’t necessarily faking it 100% when Offset “proposed” to her a month later. She didn’t have an engagement ring when they got married.
Sources say that even though Cardi and Offset are technically married, they plan on having a big wedding ceremony after she gives birth to their baby.
Getting married in your bedroom right after you wake up sounds so romantic. For the couple, at least. I’m sure that officiant felt a little awkward at some point. Possibly between accidentally stepping on a pair of underwear and trying not to stare at any sex toys on the nightstand.
