Since that paean to borderline personality disorder Girls wrapped up after six seasons, Lena Dunham is mostly known for the end of her five-year relationship with musician Jack Antonoff. She’s gotten some mileage out of it (a couple of essays and speculation about a new dude in her life), but the gossip cycle is about one yoctosecond long and people could very well start to ask “who she?” in regards to the writer/actress.
So it’s time to make the donuts. Hence, Lena posted a pic of herself on Instagram cuddling with her ex, despite their romance decaying in its grave. They’re still friends or something. Somewhere in New Zealand, Lorde just got this pic in a DM from Lena with the caption #YourMoveBitch.
ET reports that Lena would like you to know that, despite not sharing a kitchen anymore, she and the ex are still buds.
“Best friends 4ever,” the Lenny Letter co-creator captioned the sweet Instagram pic that shows that they’re still friendly exes. The 34-year-old Bleachers singer-songwriter and Dunham called it quits in January after five years of dating. At the time, the actress’ rep, Cindi, Berger, told ET that “the breakup was amicable.”
And had nothing to do with a certain Kiwi strumpet, according to Jack. He’s sick of your hetero-normative bullshit! Get in line, Jack Off, I’ve been sick of that mess for YEARS! (No offense to the straight people in our audience. It isn’t your fault I felt terribly guilty for wanting to play with Barbie and wanting next to nothing to do with Little League as a child. Let’s blame the patriarchy!)
Following their breakup, Antonoff shut down speculations that he had already started dating other people.
“Normally I would never address rumors,” he wrote on Twitter. “But I resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip. Those relationships are deeply important and sacred.”
He then clarified, “With that said, I’m not seeing anyone. Lol.”
Ok, not to doubt Lena’s evidence that exes can remain good friends, but this pic could have been taken five years ago. There’s no time stamp. Screens were around then, he hasn’t changed his look since FUN was a thing, and hasn’t her look always been “little girl pajamas from the 1950s”? *shrug*
