Asia Argento Shared A Plea For Privacy In The Wake Of Anthony Bourdain’s Death

June 8, 2018 / Posted by:

I’m still processing the devastating news of Anthony Bourdain‘s death by apparent suicide, as I imagine a lot of people are. He was one of the rare, unfiltered, honest, and passionate public figures who shared just enough of himself to make us think we knew him. And we liked him so so much, we really did. But as hard a pill his passing is for us to swallow, his friends and family are suffering more. Anthony’s girlfriend Asia Argento is not only having to deal with the death of a loved one, she’s also having to deal with the cruel speculation of the press about her relationship with Anthony and what role it might have played in his decision to take his own life.

At the time of Anthony’s death in France, Asia was in Italy where they had recently wrapped an episode of Parts Unknown. According to People, Asia was active on social media the day of Anthony’s death, posting an Instagram story a few hours before the news broke, of herself wearing a t-shirt that said “Fuck Everyone” and captioned it “You know who you are”. How that is at all relevant or related to Anthony’s death, is a mystery to me. If I’d had the kind of year Asia’s had, I’d probably have that shit tattooed on my face.

Here are some recent photos Asia shared in the weeks before Anthony’s death that reflect admiration and love.

TMZ went one step further by reporting that Asia was seen in Rome “strolling around with a French reporter” and speculating that the pair may have broken up. Asia posted a message on Twitter, expressing her love for Anthony and telling everyone to leave her the fuck out of it.
