By popular demand… the breakout star of the royal wedding Bishop Michael Curry!

Somewhere between my 16th nap and my 23rd nap of the royal wedding, Bishop Michael Curry, the first black presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, gave a magnificently over-the-top sermon that covered love, slavery, love, the Bronze Age (no mention of the Twink Age, though), love, a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quote, love, Gilead, love, and more love. Bishop Curry covered love so much that he quoted a Celine Dion and Huey Lewis song (The Power of Love), and I was hoping he’d quote the Patron Saint of Charisma Uniqueness Nerve and Talent, RuPaul, by leading the crowd with some, “Everybody say love!” Bishop Curry didn’t do that, but his 12+ minute-long sermon did shake the shit out of some royals.

Here’s all of Bishop Curry’s speech including the entire carousel of facial expressions from the guests:

The Shade Room put together a little cut of the reactions from Zara Phillips’ water breaking over the religious theater of it all to Duchess Camilla needing someone to fetch her smelling salts at once! They weren’t ready.

I just wish the camera stayed on Princess Michael of Kunt the entire time. She’s probably in a janitor’s mop bucket right now, because listening to an African-American preacher quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a British royal wedding caused her to fill with steam before melting into a puddle on the floor.
