Jami Gertz Surprised A Bunch Of People By Showing Up At The NBA Draft

I don’t know much about sports, but from what I gather, the National Basketsballs Association had their draft yesterday and they chose Jami Gertz as their star quarterback? That seems unlikely but there you have it. According to People, Jami will be playing for the Atlanta Hawks and she’ll go on third? Sorry, everything I know about the draft I learned from watching Chappelle’s racial draft. Please bear with me here.

Ok, I got it now! Jami owns the Atlanta Hawks with her billionaire husband Tony Ressler and represented the team in the NBA Draft Lottery in Chicago where her team won (?) the #3 overall pick which I guess is a good number (?). Anyway, people on Twitter where very surprised to see Jami up in the jury box (?) which led to her name trending on Twitter.

Jami had this to say about the opportunity to represent her team in the draft.

“I’m very excited,” Gertz told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday. “We got one life. Why not be the one who gets to go be a lottery-pick (representative)? We’ve been the owners for three years now, and I feel like this is the first time we’ve taken ownership. With Lloyd and Travis being amazing hires, we are kind of like putting our stamp on it. Hopefully it will go my way (Tuesday) night, and I will continue to put my stamp on it.”

Jami spent a good part of her early career playing preppy rich girls, so maybe it shouldn’t be so surprising to learn that she’s living that preppy rich girl life for real. Don’t Muffy Tepperman, Boots St. Clair, Blair, and Kimmy Bishop all sound like names for ladies who sit in the owners box (?) at sports ball games?

Here’s Jami at the draft wearing the “blue or gold” dress from a while back. They say that if you turn the volume all the way up, you can hear her say eitherYanny” or “Laurel”.

Pffft, she clearly says “Vangie”.

Here’s Jami talking about her good luck charm.

I guess it worked!

And here, just because it’s hump day and I couldn’t resist: A greased up sexy 80s sax man.
