Rita Ora Hopes “Girls” Becomes A Bisexual Anthem
Poor Rita Ora keeps throwing singles at the wall hoping one of these days one will stick to U.S. radio like even the 900th track from a Justin Bieber album. She’s boned Calvin Harris, Rob Kardashian, and even tried to make people think she boned Jay-Z…and not even the judges on The Voice: Germany knew who she was. Who’s a girl gotta bone around here to get a hit song? If you’re Rita, your new strategy is making people think it’s (sometimes) girls, girls, girls.
People sat down with Rita ahead of the launch of “Girls,” which is her new single with Charli XCX, Cardi B, and Bebe Rexha. The reporter took note of the opening lyrics: “I am excited, I’m open-minded/I’m 50/50, and I’m never gonna hide it/You should know.” Rita didn’t wait for us piranhas to come out swinging and label her a second-rate Katy Perry and said she was inspired by “I Kissed A Girl.” As for her own sexuality, the reporter asked her if she was fluid or bisexual, and she kind of said yes:
“I think the way…If people look at it like that, it’s very narrow-minded, and I don’t think that’s what this record is. I don’t think that that even matters. Yeah.”
Naturally, in cases like this, some people think it’s a little shitty for a pop starlet to try and piggyback off the LGBTQ community just to rack up streams on Spotify, so Rita seemingly 100% came out as bi on Twitter to show she wasn’t trying to hurt or offend the community:

But one thing she sure wants to see happen as a “contributor” to the community is for the bisexual community adopt the song as their anthem:
“Definitely. I definitely want it to feel like it’s an anthem to somebody. I want there to be a sense of freedom for anyone who listens to it. So I’ll take it!”
Hello, bisexuals? The alt right? Anybody? There’s a free anthem up for grabs if you just want to come down to the bargain bin and claim it as your own!
