It’s time to take a pen to “Justin Theroux might be hooking up with Selena Gomez” rumor and scratch out Selena’s name, and scribble in “Emma Stone.” Because it would appear that Justin has moved his slick aging hipster sights onto a new target in her 20s.
Radar reports that 46-year-old Justin and 29-year-old Emma were seen leaving the same Met Gala after-party together. They were caught by photographers crawling into the same car when it was time to leave. Although it wasn’t a totally romantic ride home; they were joined in the car by Shailene Woodley. That’s Shailene looking sleeping in the backseat. Or maybe she’s just struggling to free herself of that janky Tin Man costume.

This isn’t the first time Emma and Justin have been spotted together. E! News points out that Emma and Justin were seen on a sushi date in NYC last Wednesday night. Emma has also made several appearances on his Instagram, but he’s sworn she’s just his “BFF.” Oh, no, totally! I know tons of recently-divorced men in their 40s who suddenly count a young, cute 29-year-old as their best friend forever.
Emma and Justin reportedly got close on the set of their Netflix series Maniac. Justin was previously linked to artist Petra Collins, then Selena Gomez. Emma Stone was last rumored to be dating Saturday Night Live writer Dave McCary.
As for their BFF activities at that Met Gala after-party go, a source tells E! that Emma and Justin both arrived together and spent all night together, both drinking the exact same drink (Ace of Spades champagne). Okay, I’m starting to think they are actually just BFFs. Justin is 46 going on a permanent-25, so he’s the right age for a friendship with Emma. And both were at an after-party following each other around while getting drunk on the same bottle of champagne? That’s a very BFF thing to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if that car ride home involved the two of them annoying Shailene with a too-loud conversation about stopping at a CVS to pick up snacks and stuff to dye their hair.
