Columbus, Ohio’s newest hero is the vigilante granddad known merely as Bill. Bill revealed himself as the latest inspiration for those with physical disabilities when, despite needing a cane, he deftly tripped an armed guy who was fleeing from the police. via 10tv

“Bill” looked around and saw a man with his hand in his waistband running toward him and heard officers yelling multiple times to drop the gun.

As the officers lagged behind the suspect, “Bill” stuck out a back leg to trip the suspect. The move allowed officers to catch up to him to make an arrest.

Police added that move likely saved the 18-year-old suspect’s life.

This went down at a West Columbus library where Grandpa Ninja Bill was with his granddaughter so he’s a reader, too! Smart, agile AND civic-minded! Bill’s probably the heartthrob of his assisted living complex. Watch below.
