Woody Allen Has Javier Bardem’s Support

Woody Allen’s next movie is probably going to have to star Diane Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, and maybe Kate Winslet if he’s lucky (depending on the current state of her “bitter regrets”). Poor Woody, that’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel! Luckily, he can add Javier Bardem to the list of actors who will still fuck with him, so that’s at least one more second-rate unknown bit player Woody can count on.

According to Vanity Fair, Javier is the latest actor to stand up for the misunderstood, underdog director. Javier is taking a stance similar to Cate’s. He thinks it’s up to the courts to decide what Woody’s done.

“If there was evidence that Woody Allen was guilty, then yes, I would have stopped working with him, but I have doubts,” Bardem said in a recent interview with Paris Match, according to People.

I guess evidence like, I don’t know, marrying your step-daughter,  just isn’t very compelling. Javier added:

“I am very shocked by this sudden treatment,” he continued. “Judgments in the states of New York and Connecticut found him innocent. The legal situation today is the same as in 2007.”

Shocked? That’s funny. He paid enough attention to the allegations to know which states and in what year Woody’s court ruling happened but somehow missed the subsequent decade of additional evidence and personal testimony given by Ronan and Dylan Farrow? But Javier has doubts to hand out and he’s skipping Woody with them and awarding them to his alleged victim instead. Javier must really want that role in Anything Else 2: Are You Seriously Still Talking?.

Sounds like the real victim in all of this is the movie going public. With Hollywood turning a cold shoulder to Woody, and him only being supported by a few washed up has-beens nobody’s ever heard of (serious, like what has Cate Blanchett even been in? I mean she only has 2 Oscars and 3 Golden Globes, for Christ’s sake),we may only get a few more game changing masterworks like Wonder Wheel!
