Destiny’s Child Might Reunite At Coachella Tonight
And don’t think the spotlight wattage isn’t going to be juuussstt a tad lower for Kelly and Michelle if this is the truth.
Page Six claims that Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and the other one (I kid, her name is Michelle Williams) might revive Destiny’s Child on Coachella’s main stage during Beyonce’s headline set tonight. They haven’t sung live together since they performed Michelle’s song “Say Yes” at the 2015 Stellar Awards. You know this is happening because celebrity historian Cardi B’s baby belly has been getting all the press lately…
A “source” (it’s totally Sanaa Lathan and she somehow absorbed the information when she sunk her chiclets into Bey’s mug) claims that, despite the reunion being repeatedly rumored and repeatedly shot down for a while now, it’s definitely on in the desert tonight.
“Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child are reuniting,” claims the source. “It was teased, rumored, squashed, so nothing much else was said . . . But it’s happening.”
Beyonce supposedly wanted to make up for canceling her Coachella gig last year due to the messianic twins pregnancy, so she thought getting the band back together would be nice.
The insider said the added surprise is “to make up for the fact she was unable to perform last year,” when pregnant.
“The girls really wanted it and felt they owed it to the fans.”
The girls might have wanted it, but Beyonce probably sees this as a damn chore. The three have reportedly stayed super tight since Destiny’s Child officially broke up in 2005. But you know that situation exists for the same reason she has someone walking backwards in front of her aiming a battery-powered fan at her weave so she always has wind running through her hair. It’s all about the image!
Beyonce hasn’t forgotten that Michelle stumbled slightly when they all popped up out of the stage at Superbowl XLVII! Don’t think Bey will ever forgive that insult. Three strikes you’re out and Michelle is already living under the shadow of two! She accidentally gets a contact molly high and stubs a toe or whatever tonight and the next Destiny’s reunion will feature a “Michelle” that looks a lot like Blue Ivy Carter.
