Will Ferrell Was Taken To The Hospital After His SUV Flipped On A Highway

According to TMZ, Will Ferrell encountered a scary situation on a highway while returning home from San Diego last night. No, he didn’t get into a road rage accident after accidentally whipping a burrito out the window of his car and hitting a biker in the face.

Will was in the San Diego area to do a Funny or Die event in which he appeared as Ron Burgundy. At around 11pm, the SUV carrying Will and two other passengers was sideswiped by another vehicle on the I-5 freeway around Orange County. According to sources, the impact caused the SUV spin and flip over. Will, along with two other passengers, were immediately taken to a hospital. One witness said that Will’s vehicle was more seriously injured than the car that hit them, and that Will was “bleeding profusely” at the scene.

LA-OC.tv has footage taken after the crash. Will is seen wide awake and talking on his cellphone while getting loaded into an ambulance. After the accident, Will’s rep told TMZ that he didn’t suffer any serious injuries, he has been released from the hospital, and he’s currently doing fine.

Here’s where it gets just a teensy bit messy. After the SUV was pulled upright, several empty beer bottles were reportedly seen littering the road. It’s not clear which of the vehicles they came out of, although TMZ says they’ve been told drugs or alcohol didn’t play a factor in the accident. Will wasn’t driving at the time.

A spin and a flip from the rear on a busy highway is a real “Life flashing before your eyes,” brush-with-death moment. I just hope that out of everything Will saw, one of them wasn’t the face of Jesus. It would just be too confusing for Will Ferrell to see Jesus at that time. “Is that the real Jesus, or am I just having a flashback to the time I played Jesus in Superstar?
