Today, Kate Hudson announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant with a girl. 38-year-old Kate revealed the news with a gender reveal video featuring herself and her mid-30s-ish boyfriend of about a year Danny Fujikawa, as well as her two sons Ryder (14) and Bingham (6). She also explained her lack of social media activity was due to trying to hide out for a bit while dealing with the constant feeling of having to barf. With that being said, it’s probably best they revealed baby’s gender went with balloons, and not like, a giant messy slab cake covered in sun-melted frosting (aka the barfiest gender reveal I could think of and the worst one to be wearing a white dress at).
Here’s the video:
SURPRISE!!! 🤱 If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It’s was the most sick first trimester of all my children. Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food instagrams make me queezy and thinking too much about insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been. If you’ve seen me out and about smiling and pretending like everything is amazing…I was lying! BUT! I have broken through on the other end of that and rediscovering the joys of insta/snap. We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now! And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way 💕
Kate didn’t give any further details, like when the baby is due. All we know is that this is Kate’s first girl, and Danny’s first kid. But it sounds like this is something they were both planning. When asked by The Times (via E! News) about the possibility of having more kids, Kate recently confessed:
“I’d like to! I’m not done yet. A girl would be fun. We’ll see. We’ll see how many Danny wants.”
Now to look forward to the name. Kate Hudson is a big fan of matching the initial of her kid’s name with the first initial of their dad’s last name. Ryder Robinson. Bingham Bellamy. If she follows the pattern already established, then new baby should look forward to an F name. Kate has the heart of a hippie, so I’m fully expecting something like Flower Fujikawa. But who knows? Maybe she’ll surprise us while simultaneously getting some publicity for her side hustle with Fableticia Fujikawa.
