Dominic Cooper And Ruth Negga Have Broken Up After 8 Years

Dominic Cooper, that British guy who’s not Dominic West but who looks enough like him to confuse you, and his girlfriend of 8 years Ruth Negga, who was nominated for Best Actress in 2016 for Loving, have broken up. Page Six reports that the pair began dating in 2010 but have now “amicably parted ways”.

Dominic and Ruth co-starred in the AMC show Preacher together. They also appeared in some fancy pants UK National Theatre production of Phèdre (and not the Real Housewives of Atlanta one either). This was like some real pinkies up type of shit.

We don’t know much about Ruth, she keeps a low profile, as does Dominic, but we do know that he enjoys taking artsy-fartsy black and white photos of himself in mirrors.

I think he kind of looks like a baby art school Michael Shannon. Michael K says he looks like a “human French Bulldog“. I think both can be true.

Dominic used to date his 2008 Mamma Mia co-star Amanda Seyfried. If I were the suspicious and cynical type (and I totally am) I’d raise an eyebrow over this “still friends” business because his next role is in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again which will also star Amanda. Eight years together in Hollywood is equivalent to dying of old age and heartbreak within days of each in the real world so this must be very sad for them. But in keeping with their high-brow, low-key personas, “their reps did not comment“.
