A 22-Year-Old Former Disney Channel Star Is Working In The White House

The hardest worker in the White House is the revolving door that keeps pumping out old employees and pulling in new ones. It never stops spinning! And it looks like it has pulled yet another new employee into the House. CNN says the latest employee is Caroline Sunshine, a 22-year-old former child star from the Disney Channel.

Caroline Sunshine – yes that is her real name – co-starred as the vaguely European mean girl Tinka Hessenheffer on Shake It Up from 2010 to 2013, alongside the show’s main stars Bella Thorne and Zendaya. Caroline Sunshine was hired as a press assistant for the White House press team.

Some may be wondering what kind of qualifications Caroline The Former Disney Channel star has to work in the most important office in the country, but it’s pretty obvious to me: she put in her time with a mouse, and now she’s going to work for a giant, mangy rat. But also because she does have at least some experience. White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters tells CNN:

“Caroline Sunshine was a White House intern. In college, she was involved with the American Enterprise Institute and an active member of her school’s Model United Nations team. Prior to her internship at the White House, Caroline interned for the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the College Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party.”

So she was an intern and…an intern? Here’s Caroline in action at her previous job:

CNN doesn’t say how Caroline was chosen to work in the White House. I’m choosing to believe it happened during Trump’s weekly daddy-son hangout with Eric, who just recently made the mental leap from Nick Jr. to Disney Channel. They caught a re-run of Shake It Up, and Trump was like, “The voice of Melania and the looks of Ivanka? Someone get this girl on the phone. She’d make a great…something. Whatever, we’ll find her something to do.
