Sharon Stone Defends James Franco Against The Misconduct Accusations

After five women brought James Franco into the #MeToo conversation with accusations of power abuse and misconduct, he laid low. A good idea, considering he wouldn’t want to risk getting scalped by Scarlett Johansson at the Women’s March. Not many Hollywood actresses jumped to James’ defense; the best he got was some red carpet damage control courtesy of his sister-in-law. James finally has a co-star who is willing to come to his defense, and defend him she did.

Page Six says that Sharon Stone, who made a short cameo appearance in The Disaster Artist with James, was on an episode of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast that aired last week. Apparently Sharon knows James well enough to believe he’s 100% innocent. Sharon made it seem as though she was pro #MeToo, but it would appear she’s got one condition: Do NOT accuse my wonderful, elegant friend of anything. That wasn’t me being hyperbolic, by the way.

“I’m appalled by this thing about him that’s happening, where the girlfriend can say that she’s offended that he asked for a blowjob while they’re dating. Now all of a sudden he’s a bad guy. I got to tell you, I worked with him, I know him. He’s the loveliest, kindest, sweetest, elegant, nicest man, most kind friend, lovely professional. I’m absolutely appalled by this.”

Sharon went on to say that she believes there’s a difference between sexual assault and a shitty date.

“You go out with them, they bring you home for a good-night kiss and they grab your hand and put it on their penis – a 50-year-old man. I don’t think they’re trying to sexually harass me, I think they’re just incredibly stupid and awkward. Like, really? That’s your move? Please don’t ever call me again, because you’re too stupid to date. I don’t know that I should ruin your whole life over that, but I think you’re just incredibly stupid.”

I’m sure James really was kind, lovely, elegant, sweet, and every other name of an Emotions fragrance in Sharon’s presence. That could be because James is just naturally kind n’ lovely to women he’s not trying to date or enroll in an acting school. Or it could be because James was familiar with Sharon’s extremely high-end expectations when it comes to a gig. Only the loveliest, sweetest, most elegant directors for Sharon Stone.
