Kelly Ripa Reportedly Doesn’t Want Ryan Seacrest’s Misconduct Allegations To Mess With Her Show

The response to the allegations against Ryan Seacrest by his former stylist Suzie Hardy have been varied. Some publicists reportedly don’t want anything to do with him, but Kelly Ripa, Ryan’s aggressively chipper co-host on Live with Kelly and Ryan, came out in support of him yesterday on the show by saying she “adores” him. She might adore him, but according to Page Six, she hates the awkward, weird situation he put the show in.

Here’s what Kelly said yesterday morning as they opened Live with Kelly and Ryan:

“I just want you to know that you are a privilege to work with, and I adore you. And I am speaking on behalf of all us here. I know what an easy, professional, great person you are and I feel very, very lucky to work with you each and every day. We all do.”

Aw, a half-hug and a clumsy kiss? Kelly must really believe in Ryan. But if Page Six is telling the truth, then Kelly deserves to add another Daytime Emmy award to her shelf, because there’s drama behind the scenes. A source says that Kelly is “livid” about the situation surrounding Ryan and the allegations made by Suzie, because it could “potentially fuck up her show.” The source adds:

“They oversell their friendship. Her reputation is rolled up in this – this is her show. For Kelly, there’s not a Plan B. She has to make a decision and rally around him.”

Reps for Kelly and Ryan had no comment. Meanwhile, another source calls bullshit on that first source, saying that Kelly still hearts Ryan and they’re going though this together.

“He’s one of her closest friends, and they’re very protective of each other. They’ve known each other for years and talk about everything…it’s been a tough week.”

I’m terribly sorry to inform you, second source, but I do not believe you. If there’s any chance of her show getting fucked up, then Ryan better watch his ass. I saw what happened during the Kelly Ripa vs. Michael Strahan Live co-host morning show royal rumble of 2016. Kelly destroyed Michael like she was auditioning for a spot on a Mortal Kombat character select screen. I’m sure this won’t get nearly as messy, but still – People magazine might want to keep a cover on standby, just in case.
