KFCs In the UK Are Closing Over A Chicken Shortage Crisis
There’s extra crispy drama unfolding at hundreds of KFC locations in Britain, and it’s all because of some missing chicken. According to The Washington Post, Jujubee’s nightmare came true in Britain this weekend when hundreds of KFC locations were forced to temporarily close due to not receiving chicken deliveries.
KFC in the UK just recently started working with DHL, and it sounds like they’re still working out some of the delivery kinks. Like getting chicken to the chicken restaurant. Just a small technicality, really. This notice has gone up on many KFCs.
Some locations also had signs instructing them to log onto KFC’s UK website to see where the nearest restaurant that actually had chicken was. KFC also tried to joke about the situation on social media. Now is not the time for finger lickin’ jokes, KFC!
The Colonel has an update…???

One of the 11 secret herbs and spices in KFC chicken must be crack-based poultry seasoning, because apparently British people were going through serious KFC withdrawal. The Washington Post says that Neil Coyle, a member of British parliament representing London, claimed to have been contacted by several of his constituents complaining about the lack of chicken. And police in the London borough of Tower Hamlets have requested that people stop calling about it. Apparently “Keep Calm and Carry On” doesn’t apply when you’ve got a craving for popcorn chicken.
Please do not contact us about the #KFCCrisis – it is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire.

DHL admitted they’re fully to blame, saying that a number of its deliveries had been “incomplete or delayed” because of operational issues. KFC announced today that more than half of the UK’s 900 KFC restaurants have re-opened and have chicken again. I don’t see why those closed KFC locations are holding off on re-opening until they’ve got everything for a full menu. KFC is sorely underestimating the standards expected by the KFC patron. I don’t need chicken to have a good time at KFC. I have ordered a cup of gravy before, and let’s just say the fingers dipped into it did not come from a chicken. Don’t look at me like that, KFC – you know I’m not the first!
