Jay-Z Blew More Than $113,000 On Booze This Weekend

Page Six says that Jay-Z spent Sunday night celebrating the birthday of his friend Juan “OG” Perez by hopping from bar to bar and picking up the tab. But because Jay-Z is a rich person, it shouldn’t surprise you that his version of boozing with his friends is a little more expensive than what the rest of us are used to.

Jay-Z reportedly started at midtown sushi restaurant Zuma for dinner with OG and several Roc Nation executives, where they spent $13,000. Then they went to a bar where they spent $9,000 on drinks. From there, they then went to a nightclub and dropped $80,000 on bottles of Ace of Spades champagne, a company which Jay-Z owns. Jay-Z’s server Snapchatted a picture of his bill:

You might be looking at all those bottles for only 6 guests and assuming either a mistake was made, or Jay-Z and five of his friends all have crippling alcohol problems. But Page Six points out that Jay was seen handing out bottles of Ace of Spades to several different tables.

Obviously Jay-Z is rich rich rich, and $113,135 is probably less than what Beyonce spends each month on dish rags woven from chinchilla fur. But I don’t see a fancy rich person. I see a cheapskate! First of all, he owns the champagne company – he’s basically just recycling dollars. Second, the $11,100 tip he left might look like a lot, but it’s really not. If Jay Z tipped on the pre-tax amount of $74,000, he only left a measly 15% tip, 5% less than the current standard of 20%. Gosh, things must be tighter at Tidal than we thought.
