Sarah Jessica Parker Was “Heartbroken” Over The Mean Things Kim Cattrall Said About Her

The drama over a Sex and the City 3 film, something some people (like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis) are very into, started when Kim Cattrall let it be known in no uncertain terms that she would rather yama-kippa-yay-blow her brains out than purr like Samantha again. Kim reportedly stalled production with some diva demands, then called out SJP for starting the “Kim is a diva” rumor. Then Kim claimed she was never friends with SJP. And that has SJP heartbroken.

Andy Cohen threw another fat log on this never-ending drama fire while on Watch What Happens Live on last night by asking SJP how she felt about what Kim said.

“Just…heartbroken. I mean, that whole week you and I spoke about it endlessly, because I was just, I don’t know, I found it very upsetting. Because that’s not the way I recall our experience. It’s sad, but I always think that what ties us together was this singular experience. It was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives, so I hope that that eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken. That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with it is such a privilege.”

I’m sure it’s also heartbreaking for her bank account to know there’s a chance 1/4th of their fan base isn’t going to buy a ticket to see a Samantha-less SATC3.

SJP has said previously (and recently) that they might be open to re-casting Samantha Jones for the next unnecessary movie. So Andy asked to audition, and he put on an ugly Jennifer Marlowe wig.

SJP said he did a good job (good friends make the best liars). She said that Sharon Stone’s name has been thrown around a little – something SJP is into – but that everyone will have to “thoroughly experience the grieving process” before they decide to move forward with a replacement. Clearly this death is still fresh for SJP. It’s too bad she’s no longer friends with Kim, because she could teach her a thing or two about grieving. Based on all her comments, I’d say Kim has lowered her relationship with SJP and SATC into the ground, and she’s back at the reception getting stuffed on shrimp and funeral cake.
