Harvey Weinstein Was Slapped In The Face At A Restaurant In Arizona

If there’s an unofficial list of humans that you’d want to slap in the face, Harvey Weinstein is probably right up there at the top. Last night a restaurant patron decided to do just that, twice.

TMZ says that Harvey was eating dinner with his sober coach at Elements restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona when two men sat at the table next to them. One of the men – known as Steve – tells TMZ he approached Harvey and asked if he could get a picture. Ew why? Does Steve have a dartboard at home that needs new wallpaper? Steve claims Harvey got belligerent and denied his photo request. A restaurant manager tells TMZ that Harvey was actually very polite. Regardless, no photo was taken.

When dinner was done, around 9pm, Steve claims he and Harvey got up to leave at the same time. Steve, who says he was pretty drunk, claims he approached Harvey, called him a “such piece of shit for what he did to these women” and slapped him twice. Steve’s friend caught it on camera, which wasn’t a stroke of good luck; TMZ says that Steve instructed his friend to start recording before he went in on Harvey.

The person who filmed the altercation turned on Steve and reportedly asked Harvey if he wanted them to call the police, which he declined. He then left with his sober coach. When I saw that there was possible video of Harvey Weinstein getting hit in the face at a restaurant, I was hoping for something juicy, like the slap fight scene between Jane Fonda and JLo in Monster in Law. What we got looks more like the slap you give a needle-phobe before they get a tetanus shot.

Steve had the best of intentions (revenge, 15 second of fame), but slapping Harvey Weinstein is a really risky move. He totally seems like the type who would have sold his soul for success and accepted a bag of trash as a placeholder for where his soul should be. Who knows what grossness might have poured out if Steve had hit him a little harder? His face could have exploded into a fountain of roaches, and really, that wouldn’t have been fair to everyone in the restaurant just trying to enjoy their meal. It’s bad enough they had to look at Harvey’s face all night.
