Lena Dunham And Jack Antonoff Are Over

After more than five together, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff have reportedly called it quits. If this breakup news had happened a year ago, this would be where I might wonder who gets custody of Lamby Antonoff. But we all know that ain’t going to be an issue.

A source tells E! News that Lena and Jack broke up back in December, and that it was a “mutual” decision. The source adds it’s not a messy breakup, they just aren’t crazy about each other any more. I’m sure it had nothing to do with Lena putting her foot in her mouth for the 9,439th time.

“Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was. They want the best for each other no matter what. They are both moving on.”

There is the very real possibility that Lena jinxed herself by tweeting about a cringey story about an engagement ring one month before she and Jack allegedly broke up.

I’m guessing that story she overheard was Jack telling his sister: “Lena’s finger better get used to the thought of swiping Tinder matches.

Lena is such an over-sharer, so I’m shocked we didn’t learn there was trouble in hipster paradise before now. Based on what we know about Lena Dunham, it’s strange she didn’t announce her own breakup with a pants-less Instagram story, followed by a problematic Twitter thread about how she’s very interested in dating a black guy. Jack hasn’t said anything about the news yet. Lena simply Instagrammed the following:

❤️ forever love ❤️

Maybe Lena has been too busy buying more animals and allegedly crashing Time’s Up photos to release a “We’re still the best of friends” breakup announcement.

If Lena and Jack’s break-up really was amicable, then that’s terrible news for friend-caught-in-the-middle Taylor Swift. I’m sure she was rubbing her hands together with evil glee over the thought of the drama caused by inviting both Lena and Jack and a mandatory plus-one to her next Spin The Bottle shindig.
