Open Post: Hosted By Susanna Hoffs Doing “The Golden Girls” Theme Song

Even though the 80s will forever be the greatest time in history to me, I don’t watch The Goldbergs. I don’t watch that many shows with commercials anymore. I’ve gotten so lazy that it’s a chore and a major act of labor for me to press the fast forward button on my remote control. But if you pay homage to the four angels known as The Golden Girls, I will post the shit out of you.

NewNowNext says that this week’s episode of The Goldbergs has a Golden Girls theme that involves Wendi McLendon-Covey in a short Hedwig wig creating her own golden squad with some other blonde, Irene from The Real World: Seattle and Paige Davis. (I told you already that I don’t watch the show, so I don’t know the character names. Leave me alone!) The Golden Goldbergs take on the town and strut to a cover of Thank You For Being A Friend by Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles.

Errr, I used to think that Susanna Hoffs could do no wrong, and then I listened to her cover of The Golden Girls theme song. That gets one expired cheesecake from me. But Susanna Hoffs did take on an impossible task of trying to recreate the flawless magic of the original theme song. And not only that, but the “covering The Golden Girls theme song” game was wrapped up in 2015 with The Golden Girls porn parody theme song. I mean, it starts out with, “Thank you for fucking my friend.” It can’t be beat.
