Catt Sadler Left E! Because She Made Way Less Than Jason Kennedy

Whenever you flip on E!, if you aren’t greeted with the gerbil-decibel of a Kardashian voice, you’re usually greeted by Catt Sadler breaking news about what shade of blush a Kardashian was just seen picking up from the MAC counter. Basically, they were a two-headed dragon that fed one another, so it was a little shocking when Catt announced yesterday she was leaving the network after finding out her spiky-haired co-host Jason Kennedy was raking in more coins than her!

Catt, who was with E! for 10 years,  took to her website, theCattwalk, to say that not only was Jason making more than her, he was making TWICE as much as her. Whenever it came time for her contract negotiations, she went in ready to fight to get a bigger paycheck for doing just what he does:

“Information is power. Or it should be.  We are living in a new era.  The gender pay gap is shrinking, although admittedly we have a long way to go.  And well, I learned this first hand.  My team and I asked for what I know I deserve and were denied repeatedly.”

The network suddenly run out of money to pay talent? Hmmmm. Where, oh, whereeee could all the money have gone?! I haven’t the faintest of ideas!

Even though Jason was making bank in comparison to Catt, it sounds like she doesn’t harbor a grudge against him and still called him her “tv husband” in the post. But it’s hard to report on such hard-hitting topics as “maxi dress or short skirt?” and “Best Bachelor contestant of all time?” knowing the low-rent Ryan Seacrest standing next to you is three tax brackets ahead of you. She did seem wistful and grateful for all the opportunities afforded to her by E!:

“For more than a decade I’ve walked through the doors at E and traveled into people’s living rooms around the world.  I’ve reported from a royal wedding, the Olympics, and the Oscars.  I’ve been to film festivals in France, movie premieres in Rio, and fashion week in Paris.  I’ve gotten chased by the paparazzi on camera while shopping with Kris Jenner, co-hosted shows with Khloe, Kim and Kourtney, and interviewed Kendall and Kylie back in those early Keeping Up days when no one could remember their names.”

HAHA way to bring the back-up heiresses down a peg or fifteen, Catt! Her salary revelation is already getting support from celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, who posted on Facebook a note of gratitude for sharing her story. JLaw had her own gender wage gap issue reveal when she penned an op-ed for Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter with the title “Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co-Stars?

As for who might replace Catt, the options are limitless!  Now that Fashion Police is no more, you know Giuliana Rancic is sharkling (circling like a shark) the E! parking lot with sketches of how she’ll redesign Catt’s dressing room and an offer to co-host for nothing more than a free plug for her prosecco line.
