This Is What Prince William And Duchess Kate’s Christmas Picture Looks Like

Kensington Palace tweeted out the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s annual Christmas card picture earlier today. I always assumed British Christmas was the same kind we’ve got here across the pond. But based on this picture, I’d think Christmas in the UK is the day your family poses like mannequins in matchy-matchy ensembles for a high-end department store called Christopher Thomas. A store in which all the clothes come in tastefully muted pastels, and the numbers on the price tags have been replaced with the words, “Oh dear, if you have to ask how much it is…

According to Kensington Palace, the picture was taken earlier this year during the family’s trip to Canada by royal photographer Chris Jackson. Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte look much different than they did in their Christmas card photo from two years ago. In 2015, they all looked so down-to-earth, like they did their own grocery shopping and vacuumed their own floors. For whatever reason, this year Will and Kate look like The Heart Family’s snobby cousins whose Christmas visit always begin with a passive-aggressive mention that they stopped to use the bathroom before they arrived at the Heart’s house.

Speaking of houses, Clarence House tweeted a picture of Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card, which is only slightly more Christmassy.

The royal family also used the occasion to announce that 2-year-old Princess Charlotte would be going to Willcocks Nursery School in January.

Lots of announcements and pictures from the royals today! All that’s missing is a Christmas card from Prince Harry and Future Princess Meghan. I’m willing to bet that if they release a Christmas photo, Prince George will be seen stealing the show in that one too. After all, it’s high time Auntie Meghan’s engagement ring learns that it can try as hard as it wants, but nobody in the family upstages Prince George.
