Billie Lourd Reportedly Wants Carrie Fisher’s Ex-Assistant To Stop Parading Gary Around

When Carrie Fisher went off to heaven to tell the angels like it is, there were stories saying that her beloved dog/sidekick Gary Fisher was going to live with her daughter Billie Lourd. But those stories were made of lies and Gary ended up moving in with her assistant at the time, Corby McCoin. Since then, Corby has become Gary’s manager of sorts. Corby is in charge of Gary’s Instagram account, which has 163,000 followers, and books him gigs at ComicCons and shit. But a source tells TMZ that Billie Lourd and her father/Carrie’s ex-partner Bryan Lourd want Corby to retire Gary from the spotlight. They feel that Gary becoming “the face of Carrie Fisher” cheapens her legacy. It’s a good thing that dogs can’t read or understand human words because if they could, Gary Fisher may be highly offended by anyone saying that he, a flawless diamond of a pooch, is capable of cheapening anything! The Audacity!

Since Carrie took Gary almost everywhere with her and he was a very important part of her life, many of her fans want to meet him. Corby told TMZ that she’s not doing it for the cash, she’s doing it to help Carrie’s fans heal from the pain of losing her. So Corby planned to take Gary to various Star Wars events, but two things have stopped her from doing that and those two things are Billie and Bryan Lourd. Corby planned to take Gary to one of the ComicCons, but Lucasfilm put a stop to that. And last April, Mark Hamill wanted Gary Fisher to join him onstage at some Star Wars event in Orlando, but Lucasfilm put a stop to that too. Lucasfilm was apparently respecting Billie Lourd’s wishes. She didn’t want Gary to make an appearance.

Sources also claim that Bryan asked Corby to shut down Gary’s IG. Bryan offered to give Corby $250 a month, thinking that she’s putting Gary out there for money, but she turned down the cash.

Billie and Bryan reportedly don’t want Gary to “define the memory of Carrie” and want him to go back to spending his days eating sleeping, snoring and using that iconic tongue to lick his own ass. No word if Billie or Bryan are pissed that Gary put on space alien drag to do a cameo in The Last Jedi:

I can see both sides. On one hand, Carrie was obviously okay with Gary’s IG account and she’d let him pose with her fans at ComicCons, so she may be okay with him still doing the ComicCon rounds. On the other hand, Gary is a dog and may not want to take selfes with Star Wars nerds for the rest of his days.

But you know, it’s not like Gary is putting on the Princess Leia buns and trying to get Lucasfilm to recast him in Carrie’s role for future Star Wars movies. Oh wait…

Dammit, Gary!

And here’s Billie and her dad Bryan at the L.A. premiere of The Last Jedi over the weekend.
