Jessica Chastain Was Told To Hush Up About The Harvey Weinstein Situation
A month before Bryan Singer was finally dragged out of the open sewer of accused creeps, Jessica Chastain spoke up on Twitter to remind everyone about the numerous accusations that have been made against him. Before that, she used Twitter to explain she was very well aware of the rumors of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged behavior, and called BS on everyone who said they they had no idea. Some gave it up for Jessica for calling a creep out, but not everyone in her life is on board with that.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show (via People) earlier this week to promote Molly’s Game, Jessica confessed that a “well-known actor” emailed her regarding her many tweets about the Harvey Weinstein situation. Jessica says the male actor advised her to “calm down” and stop tweeting so much about it.
“I found that heartbreaking and can only think he didn’t understand the movement that was happening.”
I want to believe that Jessica responded with a link to a WikiHow article on the steps one might take to go fuck themselves.
Jessica doesn’t say who the email came from, and she didn’t give any hints. Earlier today on Twitter (after Jessica’s interview with Graham Norton picked up speed), she was asked if her Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey was the person “bothering” her.
No ❤

Obviously the email had to come from someone Jessica is close enough with to have her personal email address. That could be any one of the numerous well-known male stars she’s worked with recently. Matt Damon, Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth. But Matthew McConaughey is probably the last person I’d expect to email Jessica. And that’s based solely on the fact that I refuse to believe Matthew uses email for anything other than communicating with the Dominos pizza tracker after he gets the munchies.
