Adriana Lima Is Done Taking Off Her Clothes For “Empty Causes”

December 11, 2017 / Posted by:

2017 was the last year anyone would ever see Victoria’s Secret Underwear Angel Alessandra Ambrosio strut down the runway of their annual primetime commercial fashion show. As it turns out, Alessandra might not be the only model hanging up her thong and retiring. 36-year-old Adriana Lima could possibly be done with VS too.

On Saturday, Adriana posted a message to Instagram explaining that she wasn’t feeling the pressure put on women to look a certain way (it’s probably safe to assume she means skinny and hot). She explained that in an attempt to stop living a superficial existence, she would no longer take her clothes off for an “empty cause.” She also mentions that her choice is made on behalf of her “children,” which would be the two daughters she had with her ex-husband Marko Jaric.

So why all of a sudden is famed sexy model Adriana Lima stepping away from sexy modeling? Adriana says it started after she had received a phone call asking her to participate in a “sexy video” to be shared on social media. I can’t imagine who Adriana is talking about here, but it sounds like she didn’t LOVE the idea of that sexy social media video.

?I had received a call for the possibility of filming a sexy video of me to be posted and shared in social media. Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body, then it made me think…. that everyday in my life, I wake up thinking, how do I look? Was I going to be accepted in my job? And in that moment I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc imposed…. i thought that’s not a way of living and beyond that…. that’s not physically and mentally healthy, so I decided to make that change….. I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause…..?✨ #Embraceyouself #natureisbeautiful #naturalissexy #LOVEYOU ?✨

Adriana doesn’t say she’s quitting sexy modeling for good; just that she’s not doing it for empty causes anymore. But one of those “empty causes” she’s talking about might possibly be taking off her clothes for Victoria’s Secret. Glamour magazine points out that Adriana has recently unfollowed VS senior creative executive and friend of VS models Ed Razek on Instagram, as well as several other VS models.

Adriana just walked in her 18th VS fashion show this year in Shanghai, China, and has appeared in countless VS catalogs. Last month she said she would retire from the VS fashion show after her 20th show, so there’s still a chance she might show up next holiday season in a lacy ensemble with her titties pushed high to the sky. And I wouldn’t be surprised about that. There’s no cause less empty than charity, and the VS fashion show is practically a charity event. Every year, the VS fashion show provides Leonardo DiCaprio’s desperate boner with a year’s supply of skinny underwear models to date. With their hard work, Leonardo is saved from the indignity of hanging around outside modeling agencies or slipping into DMs. Where’s Sarah McLachlan to sing “In the arms of the aaaaaaangel” when we need her?
