Danny Masterson Has Been Written Off Netflix’s “The Ranch”

Danny Masterson should probably update his SuckedIn account (I’m assuming that’s Scientology’s LinkedIn) to say former star of The Ranch. Because according to Variety, he’s been fired.

A spokesperson for Netflix issued a statement Tuesday regarding the decision to have Danny mosey on off The Ranch and into greener pastures (aka to deal with his four rape accusations currently being investigated by the LAPD).

“As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch. Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.”

The Ranch is released in 10-episode blocks, with the fourth part scheduled to hit Netflix on December 15th. It’s not known if Netflix will release all 10 episodes on the 15th, or if they will carry some over into 2018. Danny is not expected to appear in any episodes that stream after December 15th.

Danny released a statement about getting written off The Ranch, and he’s not happy.

“I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch. From Day 1, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one.

In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude to the cast and crew that I’ve worked so closely with over the past three seasons. I wish them nothing but success. I am also so thankful to the fans that have supported me and continue to do so.”

Netflix doesn’t say how The Ranch writers plan on writing Danny off the show. I know Danny’s not the star star – that would be Ashton Kutcher. My suggestion is that they take a page from what is happening on House of Cards, and re-write it to star one of the female characters. Specifically Elisha Cuthbert. And move it from the country to Chicago. And write a couple parts for Casey Wilson and Adam Pally and drama-loving Derrick. What I’m saying is they should just reboot Happy Endings. Listen, it’s what everyone (aka me) wants.
