The Long Island Medium Has Separated From Her Husband Of 28 Years

Theresa Caputo, aka theĀ Long Island Medium, and her husband Larry Caputo have announced they’re splitting up after 28 years of marriage. Theresa and Larry released a statement to People, but they don’t really say why. I’m sure that’s because Theresa is waiting to reveal it all for six-part TLC special in which she uses her “special powers” to contact to her marriage from beyond the grave and figure out how it died.

Theresa and Larry’s statement reads:

“After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time.”

Theresa and Larry have two adult children, Larry Jr. and Victoria. During an episode of Long Island Medium that aired last month, Theresa revealed that she and Larry were having marriage troubles.

“Since the last season of Long Island Medium and through a period of time, Larry and I’s relationship has changed. We’ve been there for each other, you know, through thick and thin, you know, good times, and right now are not such great times. I don’t understand it. I lay in bed, and I say to myself, ‘How did this happen? How did I get here?'”

I think I have a theory of what might have happened, and coincidentally it also involves lying in bed. My guess is that Larry spent too many nights shuddering in his sleep to the creepy feeling of Theresa’s tacky corn chip nail tips brushing against his back every time she rolled over in bed. So Larry gave Theresa an ultimatum: either the nails go, or he goes. Which is such a futile request. A classy Long Island lady like Theresa would rather die and be with the ghosts she misrepresented for years than even think about parting with her beloved acrylics.
