Say goodbye to Twitter draggings made by Armie Hammer, because he’s gone ahead and deleted his account. Vulture says that nobody is @-ing Armie by his name on Twitter anymore, and it most likely has to do with the BuzzFeed article titled “Ten Long Years of Trying To Make Armie Hammer Happen.” On Sunday, shortly after the post went up, Armie hopped on Twitter and slapped at the writer for their “bitter AF” perspective. Not long after that, Armie pulled the plug on his Twitter account.
Vulture doesn’t say exactly why he did it, but it was most likely due to any unwanted attention he got after coming for BuzzFeed. Which there has been a lot of. And it’s not the first time Armie quit. After a clip of Armie dancing went viral last month, he voluntarily two-stepped away from Twitter.
“Anytime I would open up my Twitter, it was just a ton of that, and I was like, ‘Nope, I can’t have my nose rubbed in this anymore. I’m out!'”
If you are going through Armie Hammer social media withdrawal, there’s still Instagram.
It’s also not known if or when Armie will be back on Twitter. So I guess if Armie wants to drag anyone in the meantime, he’s limited to magazine articles. Eh, I’m fine with that. On the downside, this means any bondage accounts will be missing that lucrative Armie Hammer “like” endorsement. And so close to the holidays too? That’s terrible. I’m sure sex rope vendors would have really appreciated the extra little boost in sales that an Armie’s Choice seal of approval brings in.
