Minka Kelly Would Like You To Know She Didn’t Wreck Jesse Williams’ Marriage
Jesse Williams is for sure dating Minka Kelly after splitting from his estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee in the messiest way. The timeline of when Jesse got with Minka is still a target of speculation. If you ask Minka Kelly, like someone on Instagram recently did, she’ll tell you that she had no part in ruining his marriage.
Yesterday, Minka Instagrammed a post-haircut selfie. Minka got some compliments on her hair, but she also got drama that unfolded in the comments. UsWeekly says that it started with a fan who wrote: “I hope the cheating rumors aren’t true. It would be disappointing.” Apparently Minka doesn’t play when it comes to people implying she’s an “other woman” type and she shot back:
“They’re not. Hate for you to be disappointed. Glad I could clear that up for you. Now fuck off.”
Another fan asked where the original comment went (it had since been deleted). Minka responded again, letting everyone know she didn’t delete it and stands by her original response.
“I didn’t delete it and I stand by it. Anyone and their assumptions about my personal life can do the same.”
That last one actually ended with a peace sign emoji. I can appreciate that, especially since I love a good juxtaposition. And there really isn’t any one better than a cutesy emoji and telling someone to fuck off.
I’m sure some of Minka’s nosier fans were waiting to see if she’d post a follow-up today with some proof that she’s not Jesse’s other woman, like a video of her flipping the bird while taking a lie detector test. Instead she posted her own story about meeting with Harvey Weinstein back in the day.
You can read the whole tale here, but I’ve condensed it a bit below. Minka says she met Harvey at an industry party, and the next day her agent said he wanted to see her at his hotel. Minka declined the hotel room meeting, and so instead, they met in the hotel restaurant with an assistant present. The assistant got up and left at one point, and that’s when Harvey allegedly laid on the creepy charm.
“As she walked away, he said, ‘I know you were feeling what I was feeling when we met the other night’ and then regaled me with offers of a lavish life filled with trips around the world on private planes etc. IF I would be his girlfriend. Or, ‘We could just keep this professional.’ All I knew was not to offend this very powerful man and to get out of the situation as quickly as possible. I told him while flattered, I’d like to keep things professional. He said ‘Fine. I trust you won’t tell anyone about this.’ I said ‘Of course not. Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me.'”
Minka says she’s “appalled” for any women who are being told that these situations are their fault. She also apologizes for “being complicit” in keeping quiet and protecting his behavior.
That was some quick thinking on Minka’s part to ask that the meeting with Harvey be moved to the hotel’s restaurant. Although I’m sure it was plenty awkward for Harvey when he arrived at the host’s stand. “Uh, Mr. Weinstein? We’ve told you numerous times, you can’t wear your bathrobe down here.”
