Pink Regrets Saying She Was Team Taylor

Back in August, Pink was over in London promoting her new music, and the hosts of a radio station asked her the most life-affirming question of our time: Team Taylor Swift or Team Katy Perry. She responded, but now she regrets it.

Pink kinda meekly responded, “Taylor, is that OK?” And then she noted it was kind of a lose-lose question. Pink meant that she was going to get trolled the shit out of by the time she checked Twitter after the interview. The Los Angeles Times reports that Pink is still kinda regretting even playing into the question:

“I should’ve just kept my mouth shut, because I don’t believe that. I don’t care. But I felt rushed and I didn’t know what to do. And I paid for it, because then the next day: ‘Pink is Team Taylor.’”

I’m sure Pink was just like, “I’d rather deal with Katy’s brand of petty fallout than deal with the onslaught of the Butterscotch Don’s type of revenge.” We can’t have Taylor announcing a relaunch of Napster with all her exclusive songs on it the same day Pink’s album drops!

While Pink thinks she should have kept her yap shut on that front, she does think she’s more than justified in being political, so stop telling her to shaddap and sing:

“You shut up and telemarket. No! Nobody should shut up. Everybody should be talking. I was raised with the mantra “Dissent is the cornerstone of democracy.” We’re supposed to disagree. You don’t really know how you feel until you have to defend it.”

She says everyone has a right to express their opinion, even her 72-year-old Republican father. She says it remains mainly civil between the two of them when it comes to politics, but that likely won’t last too long since she has a song with Eminem coming out. Eminem isn’t exactly making nice with Trump supporters these days, and LAWD only knows what he’ll pull with Pink. My guess is it’ll involves him shitting on the conservative justices of the Supreme Court while Pink twirls above in one of those acrobatic rings she always performs in.
