Meghan McCain Is Joining “The View”

The View has always sort of been like the Bermuda Triangle of daytime talk shows. Every year, a co-host will find themselves wondering why their nameplate is no longer on their dressing room door and wondering where all their stuff went before they’re escorted out of the studio by building security, never to be heard from again. It was rumored last week that political TV person and Senator’s daughter Meghan McCain would be the latest famous butt to fill a seat at The View table left vacant by Jedediah Bila.

Deadline confirms that the rumors were true Meghan will be The View’s token Conservative. Deadline says that when Jedediah announced she was leaving a few Mondays ago, the decision had already been made by higher-ups that she was being replaced by Meghan. Meghan had announced that she was quitting her gig at Fox News less than two weeks ago.

Meghan will start The View next month. Insiders tell Variety that Meghan was chosen because The View has been looking for a strong Conservative voice ever since Elisabeth Hasselbeck left in 2013. Well, Meghan McCain seems a bit more progressive and far less irritating than Hasselbeck. Not to mention Meghan very much hates Trump. So what will Meghan and everyone else at the table argue about?

Whoopi: “Today on hot topics, Trump did something stupid.”

Meghan: “I agree, he’s an idiot, case closed.”

Whoopi: “Well, we’ve still got eight minutes to kill. I guess we could talk about my clogs?”
