Nicole Kidman Sorta Forgot She Had Two Other Kids Last Night

Nicole Kidman has four children: two she adopted while married to Tom Cruise (Isabella and Connor), and with her husband Keith Urban (Sunday and Faith). But according to Nicole at the Emmys last night, she’s only got two. I think you can guess which two got that coveted acceptance speech name-drop.

Nicole won the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Celeste in Big Little Lies. This was her first Emmy win, and she went big with her acceptance speech. She spoke about domestic violence. And of course she thanked Keith Urban (in Chris Gaines cosplay). She also acknowledged her daughters, who had to deal with an MIA mommy while she was off shooting. Well, she acknowledged two of her daughters.

“I also am a mother and a wife. I have two little girls, Sunny and Faith…I want my little girls to have this on their shelf and look at it and go, ‘Every time my mama didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this. I got something!'”

Nicole said back in 2013 that she respects her kids (ie. Connor and Isabella) being in Scientology and it’s fine, whatever, totally not a suppressive person situation, stop asking about it. Nicole also reportedly was allowed to meet Isabella’s new husband, post-secret marriage.

Still, Connor and Isabella were the only two of her four kids who got the shaft. The Scientology conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe Nicole left them out on purpose because Scientologists get a super-secret thank you that only they can see and hear, but it must be delivered by a practicing Scientologist. Nicole covered this base by poking Elisabeth Moss and whispering, “Hey, when you get up on stage to accept your awards, do me a favor and mentally transmit a thank you to my two other kids for me?

In all likelihood, it was probably just because Nicole’s brain was only working at half capacity. She kissed Alexander Skarsgård square on the mouth after he won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series.

Look at Nicole in the press room with Alexander Skarsgård. She’s positively thawing!
