Jennifer Aniston Doesn’t Really Care That Her Nipples Showed Up On “Friends”

I have a shameful admission to make: I watched my first full episode of Friends only about a year ago (and it’s not because we didn’t have Friends in Canada or anything weird like that). I watched all 236 episodes in succession, and there were several things that stood out. Namely, Jennifer Aniston’s nipples.

Vogue recently spoke to Jennifer Aniston about her upcoming TV show with Reese Witherspoon, which led them to talking about her first big TV role. And that segued into Jen’s status as the accidental godmother of the #FreeTheNipple movement.

A lot of people know about Rachel Green’s nipples; there are several Tumblrs dedicated to them. Vogue informs Jennifer Aniston that someone recently referred to her as the “OG of #FreeTheNipple,” the nipple-freeing movement to liberate and celebrate lady nipples. Jen is flattered to be given such an honor, even though she admittedly doesn’t really care that much about her nipples.

“Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that! It’s just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra, I don’t know what to tell ya! And I don’t know why we’re supposed to be ashamed of them – it’s just the way my breasts are! But hey, OG, I’m not going to complain!”

She’s not lying; Jen’s nipples are just like that. They’re always there! With that being said, Jen’s nipples really should be listed in the end credits of Friends, because they made a lot of special guest appearances. Give those nipples some recognition, they worked hard.

It’s not just Jen’s nipples that have experienced recent popularity. Every season of Friends was added to Netflix. Because of this, Jen says she has a new audience of young women who have discovered Rachel Green.

“Isn’t that funny?! It’s a weird resurgence, it’s like you’re frozen in time. Girls come up to me thinking that I’m still on the show! I’m so proud that it could have a second wind and still feel relatable, though.”

Who are these girls who still think Jennifer Aniston is on Friends? That sounds suspiciously like something Jennifer Aniston’s assistants tell her when they think she’s having a bad day. “Whaaaaa? What do you mean Friends was filmed over 20 years ago? Get out! It must be the Aveeno and Smartwater, because you don’t look a day over Season 3.”
