The self-proclaimed “Pied Piper of R&B” (yeah, let that marinate a bit), R. Kelly can’t keep his face off the TMZ homepage these days. Today’s latest story is about a girl who got away. A woman, who was 20 at the time, spoke to TMZ about meeting R. Kelly after she was singled out by “someone in his crew” at a concert last December and given a backstage pass.
From there, TMZ reports:
She says R. Kelly gave her his number and the 2 exchanged calls and texts, and he promised to help her become an actress/model. He invited her to his Georgia home and told her to “wear something sexy.” She claims she brought a friend, but it got real creepy — no phones were allowed and suddenly she was escorted to R’s bedroom.
Apparently, R. Kelly encouraged her walk around and do some modeling for him and eventually, he talked her into taking pictures. Then he gave her $200 to buy some heels, lingerie and various other “sexy” accoutrements for her to bring next time, “which she did.”
The woman claims she never had sex with R. Kelly, but her account is consistent with other reports of R. Kelly’s M.O. and actions. Thankfully, this story has a better ending than others we’ve heard, because this chick was so skeeved out by R. Kelly’s behavior that she did what we wish all those other girls could do, she called her damn momma. According to TMZ:
She says the last straw was him sending her a one-way ticket to be with him back in L.A. in February, warning her not to bring a friend. She says she felt uneasy and told her mother, who promptly put the kibosh on the trip.
Girl, you betta listen to your momma! Women, especially black women, have been trying to tell y’all about this creep since that piss tape came out. We were already shaking our heads when he illegally married a 15 year old Aaliyah. Despite the long, long list of allegations against R. Kelly spanning most of his career, I can’t believe this dude still has one!
Did you know that R. Kelly still has multiple concert dates scheduled for this summer? And people are still publicly supporting him. Why, just today director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood) talked to TMZ saying “he has a bunch of girlfriends, a lot of people have a bunch of girlfriends” and that he doesn’t understand what the controversy is all about. *Sigh* Maybe John needs to call his mother and ask her what she has to say about it. Or even better, maybe we can get maternal legend Toyko Toni to transfer some of her heat his way and read the fuck out of R. Kelly. Tokyo, dear, you have the floor. Tell R. Kelly what’s good.
