Jesse Williams’ Divorce Is A Footnote For 4:44

It’s been a rough week for light-skinned brothers with alleged side-chicks and the nickname “Bae”. Earlier this week the so called “Prison Bae” got busted cheating on his wife and is now facing a divorce. Today, even hotter Bae, “Woke Bae” Jesse Williams has opened up about his divorce from wife and partner of 13 years, real estate professional Aryn Drake-Lee.

Thanks to Jay-Z, Jesse was able to express his frustration at media’s handling of the ongoing and sad divorce and custody battle between him and his wife by way of Jay Z’s musical mea culpa 4:44. Accompanying the album is an 11 minute video called Footnotes for 4:44 which features Jesse and his thoughts on the media’s speculation into his private affairs.

Since nobody I know has Tidal it will remain unwatched by me but luckily, E! News has the story.

In the impassioned cameo, Jesse says, “I was in a relationship 13 years, 13 real years, not 5 years, not 7 years, 13 years and all of a sudden mother fuckers are writing think-pieces that I somehow threw a 13-year relationship—like thee most painful experience I’ve had in my life like with a person I’ve loved with all of my heart—that I threw a person and my family in the trash because a girl I work with is cute.

The “cute girl” he works with is probably a reference to Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly and the rumored marriage killing relationship between the two. Jesse has subtly denied those rumors after the two were caught getting cozy by paps while working together in Paris but not a lot of hos are buying it. And they were papped again at the movies last night.

Last month Jesse’s divorce got extra messy when E! News reported that court documents showed Jesse has accusing Aryn of restricting his access to the couple’s two children. In turn, Aryn has accused Jesse of airing their dirty laundry in public.

Whenever a celebrity, especially a super hot one, has a ride or die bitch by their side, it makes us normals feel better and makes me generally more inclined towards them. Like, I have always had a soft spot for Jesse, in part because he had a normal seeming wife and I liked his politics. I have even continued to watch Grey’s Anatomy partially because of him! I am Grey’s Anatomy‘s ride or die bitch and I’m only a little ashamed to admit that. But now that Jesse is out here being sloppy and whining about the unfairness of life in the spotlight, I’m less inclined towards him. And I absolutely will not pay a penny to get Tidal in order to listen to him complain about it. But I’m still going to Watch Grey’s, because it’s one of the longest relationships I’ve ever had.
