Dani Mathers Took A Plea Deal In Her Body-Shaming Case
Former Playboy Playmate and all-round rude bitch Dani Mathers went to court today to deal with the time she definitely-not-accidentally body shamed an older naked woman in her gym changing room on Snapchat. Dani was charged with invasion of privacy, which she plead not guilty to. Dani’s lawyer tried to get her out of a trial by attempting to argue that the law was too ambiguous to be constitutional. Nobody bought that, and so Dani ended up in court today.
Dani’s lawyers must have realized the only way they were going to win this case would be if they could convince the Snapchat Ghost to swear under oath that they temporarily possessed Dani and took the picture, because TMZ says she took a plea deal in court.
Dani, who strolled into court wearing what appears to be the dark version of one of my favorite of Lindsay Lohan’s plea deal ensembles, was joined by her lawyers Dana Cole and Tom Mesereau (Gandalf’s Los Angeles cousin above) and was given two plea deal options. She could either pick 45 days in jail and 36 months probation, or 30 days spent removing graffiti and 36 months probation. Dani picked graffiti removal and 36 months probation. BuzzFeed says she will be required to pay her victim $60 in restitution. Dani was also ordered not to take any unauthorized photos that invade any person’s privacy. LA City Attorney Mike Feuer tweeted after court about the situation.
This case was about the consequences of #bodyshaming. Imagine if it was your mother, or if the victim was a trans kid struggling w/ identity

Dani’s lawyer Tom Mesereau released a statement to BuzzFeed saying Dani “made a mistake.”
“She realized she made a mistake. Her goal was never to hurt anyone and she very much regrets what happened. Mesereau said that case has “been an ordeal” for his client and “she is very relieved to put this case behind her.”
“She never imagined it would get this out of control. She freely admitted it was a mistake. She apologized before any case was filed.”
Dani chose community service, which is the lightest slap on the wrist (more like a gentle brushing, really). But graffiti removal seems like a fitting punishment. After Dani was caught acting superficial on Snapchat, LA Fitness let Dani know she was no longer wanted at any of their locations. Now she’s going to spend 30 days removing unwanted superficial stuff from a variety of locations in L.A. Have fun scrubbing all that spray paint, Dani!
