Drake Set A Single-Year Record At The Billboard Music Awards
At last night’s Billboard Music Awards, Drake was the Prom King, Prom Queen, Most Devastating Smile, Maple-Dipped Hottie, and the drunk chick who grabs a bunch of awards while everyone is on the dance floor screaming to Party Rock Anthem. He won everything.
Drake took home 13 of the 22 awards he was nominated for, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for Views. Drake’s now the most-awarded single-ceremony artist in BB history. And he was so damn excited about all his awards. Drake was like a stripper who once bareback boned Drake watching two lines appear on a pregnancy test. He did lots of thanking and gushing, and also joked that the previous record holder Adele – with 12 at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards – would no doubt beat his record just as soon as she releases new music.

He also rode a wave of emotions regarding co-host Vanessa Hudgens. Drake began by cringing hard at what I guess we would technically call an attempt at rapping. But by the end of the night, he was shamelessly hitting on her and creeping on her Instagram account.
Drake shot his shot at Vanessa Hudgens, ended beef w/ Luda, thanked Nicki & Wayne, & "Boy if you don't stop" a meme. pic.twitter.com/YifAOamsgt

Drake did more than just collect trophies; he also performed Gyalchester from his most recent album More Life. And he did it in the fountain at The Bellagio. Blessings be to Saint Degrassi for giving him the foresight to perform that close to water. If any of those millions of fireworks went rogue, he’d only have about 0.6 seconds before his white suit caught on fire and turned Drake into roasted duck.
Here’s more of Drake backstage after the Billboard Music Awards with all of his trophies. Also included is the woman who has no doubt received hearts and winky-faced emojis on at least two dozen of her Instagram pictures since last night.
