It Looks Like Amy Schumer And Lena Dunham Don’t Hate The Met Gala So Much After All

May 2, 2017 / Posted by:

Just like Gwyneth Paltrow before them, Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham haven’t been too subtle when it comes to letting people know what they think of the Met Gala. Last year, Amy Schumer crapped all over the Met Gala when she claimed to have told Beyonce that 2016 would be her first and last time going. She also said it felt like punishment, and described everyone as being dressed up like “a bunch of fucking assholes.” Lena Dunham also claimed to have had a crappy time last year because Odell Beckham Jr. failed to hit on her (she later apologized for that).

It sounded like both Amy and Lena would have rather sat at home in a jacuzzi filled with bleach and steel wool than go to the Met Gala. But again, like Gwyneth, both Amy and Lena showed up last night. Amy wore a dress by Zac Posen that looks like he result of a Hefty Bag-sponsored challenge on Project Runway. Lena wore a duvet cover by Elizabeth Kennedy. Lena gushed on social media about how happy she was to be there, while Amy just sort of thanked people for getting her ready.

Amy didn’t just pose on the red carpet and bounce. She stuck around and mingled with all the other “fucking assholes.

So what’s the truth, Amy and Lena? Do you hate the Met Gala and only attended because your publicists threatened to drag you there Hannibal Lecter-style on a dolly. Or maybe they really really didn’t want to go, but knew it would be just as much of a hassle if they stayed home. “It’s going to take at least three hours for my take-out to get here, thanks to the limos snaking around the city. I could go get food myself, but that will require me putting on pants and brushing my hair. And if I’m going to go to all that trouble, I might as well throw on a stupid dress and go eat at the damn Met Gala. You win this time, Anna Wintour.
