Some People Are Not Happy About Katy Perry Collaborating With Migos

According to TMZ, Katy Perry’s upcoming single Bon Appétit has already made some of her fans feel sick to their stomachs, and it has nothing to do with imagining how gross it would be to receive a plate of fruit garnished with her severed head.

Tomorrow, Katy Perry, a person with a pretty loyal LGBTQ fanbase, will release Bon Appétit, a song she recorded with hip hop trio Migos. Migos (aka Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset) don’t exactly have the best track record when it comes the gay community. After rapper iLoveMakonnen came out as gay in January, Migos gave their thoughts to Rolling Stone. Quavo raised an eyebrow at the support Makonnen had received, while Offset explained people were supporting Makonnen “because the world is fucked up“, to which Takeoff added: “This world is not right.” They also implied Makonnen’s sexuality undermined his credibility.

Quavo later tried to clear up his comments by pulling the old “I can’t be homophobic, I’ve got a gay friend” card.

Only a month ago, Katy Perry was receiving the National Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign. I don’t think I’d be reaching to to say they’re probably not going to be tripping over themselves to buy Bon Appétit on iTunes tomorrow. Katy hasn’t said anything about her collaboration with Migos besides trying to hype up the release by asking her fans to bake her a pie.

Bake me a pie and you may get a surprise ??

Migos might want to think twice about accepting any fan-made pies. Something tells me all pies marked “Made ESPECIALLY for Migos” might contain a secret ingredient or two.
