For the fifth – yes fifth – time, Julia Roberts has been chosen by People magazine (aka People with Aggressive Publicists magazine) for their annual World’s Most Beautiful issue. I honestly didn’t think People could get more predictable with their pick than when they threw Jennifer Aniston on the cover last year, but here we are.

49-year-old Julia (who doesn’t look a day over Photoshop) tells People she’s “very flattered” to be chosen as the most beautiful. She also joked that she’s going to rub her fifth cover in two-time Sexiest Man Alive George Clooney’s face in their Christmas card. No Julia, that’s too mean. Being reminded that he’s only been named the Sexiest Man Alive a measly two times will make him question whether he’s even sexy at all.

As for how Julia Roberts stays forever young, she says she doesn’t think she’s past her prime.

“I think I’m currently peaking. I’m a slow rise. I’m like a slow Thanksgiving dinner roll.” Roberts revealed that she looks forward to growing “gracefully-ish old” and one day being a grandmother herself. “That’s what the winter of life is supposed to be about.”

Julia’s first appearance was in 1991. Let’s revisit that cover, shall we?

You really can’t beat a cover that looks like it moonlights as a picture in a strip mall hair salon window.

But of course Julia Roberts is People’s choice for the World’s Most Beautiful Woman. After four covers, she’s pretty much got it in the bag every 8 to 9 years. The only way she’d lose that title was if she were to move to Mars. Actually, even then, I doubt that would stop Julia’s publicist from finding a way to get her another cover. People will just end up changing it to The Universe’s Most Beautiful Creature. Do not underestimate the power of Julia’s publicist.
