Britney Spears’ Las Vegas Show “Piece Of Me” Will End In December

April 10, 2017 / Posted by:

Britney Spears opened her Las Vegas lip-sync spectacular, Piece of Me, in 2013. It ended up being a hit and in 2015 she renegotiated her contract for two more years, a few less shows, and a couple more million dollars. I honestly believed that if it came time to talk contracts again for her totally worth the price of admission show, she would kick up her go-go boots on a desk, lean back in her chair, clench a Slim Jim between her teeth like a cigar and say, “Well, impress me boys! What do y’all got for me this time?” I don’t know if she did that or not. But what I do know is that Piece of Me is ending.

E! News says that when she said she’d do Piece of Me until 2017, she meant it. Britney made the announcement today.

“As I prepare to say goodbye to Piece of Me, I had no idea how magical this experience would be. Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show.”

Britney’s final Piece of Me performances at Planet Hollywood will begin on September 3rd, with the final show set for December 31st.

Her manager, Larry Rudolph, told The Las Vegas Review Journal that just because Piece of Me is done, doesn’t mean Britney is done with Las Vegas. Larry says they’re currently talking to Caesar’s Entertainment and others about the possibility of Britney doing another show. Although he does say it’s too early to talk about another Vegas show, adding that there’s a possibility of her going on tour or working on a new album.

Okay, so we know what happens when Britney puts out new music, so let’s skip the whole new album angle, shall we? Instead, I think Britney and her people should do something different to show off Britney’s talents, like a series of interactive online fashion shows. That way they can play off of Britney’s strengths: walking with a purpose and waving her arms to the music. She’s already giving it away for free on Instagram, you might as well try to monetize it.

Back in Vegas! Found these dresses today and just had to play 🦋🦋🦋
