Meghan Markle Shut Down Her Lifestyle Blog. What Does It All Mean?!!!

April 7, 2017 / Posted by:

Seen above doing the signature lifestyle blogger pose of sitting cross-legged on a cafe banquette while smiling at nothing in particular, Meghan Markle has closed up The Tig, the lifestyle blog she started in 2014. Don’t worry, readers of The Tig, there are approximately 500 billion other lifestyle sites that will tell you where to find the perfect gluten-free baked artisanal donut and will show you how to make the perfect wildflowers and mason jar centerpiece for your wedding reception. (SPOILER ALERT: To make the perfect wildflowers and mason jar centerpiece, throw some wildflowers in a mason jar, tie twine around that bitch and BOOM!)

Meghan announced the closing of The Tig in a goodbye note she wrote to her site’s readers. A source tells People that Meghan didn’t shut it down because she’s getting ready to become a British royal and it’s very uncouth for a British royal to have a lifestyle blog. The source says that doing the blog was a full-time job and she wants to focus on her show Suits and her humanitarian work. Here’s the farewell kiss (including a Stuart Smalley-like affirmation) that Meghan blew at her readers:

After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being “the change you wish to see in the world.”

Above all, don’t ever forget your worth – as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough.

Thank you for everything.

I read The Tig a handful of times, so technically I’m a reader, which means I’m one of Meghan’s sweet friends. So the royal guard who works the front door at her wedding to Prince Hot Ginge better not give me any lip when I stroll up and say, “Yeah, I’m not on the list, but I’m one of Meghan’s sweet friends, so it’s cool.”

Please, Meghan obviously pulled down the metal storefront shutters on her site because no in-law of THE QUEEN is allowed to have a lifestyle blog. It’s already embarrassing enough that Meghan is on a basic cable show. I bet that THE QUEEN’S rule (that I made up) of the royals not allowing to have a lifestyle blog really hurts Duchess Kate every single day, because she was born to be a lifestyle blogger. I’m going to cut back on the “Duchess Kate has it so easy” jokes (probably not) from now on. When she’s waving and smiling at an event, she’s probably internally screaming inside, because she’d rather be using her hands to blog about her new favorite hairbrush that really makes her locks sparkle something extra. The struggle.

And here’s some aww-inducing pictures of PHG petting a dog and playing patty cake with a boy at the UK team trials for the Invictus Games 2017.
