Christian Bale Is Circling A Dick…….Cheney Movie

During Oscar bait season next year, you’ll be able to escape the nightmare reality of this world with a feel-good Dick Cheney biopic! Oscar-nominated writer/director Adam McKay (who directed Step Brothers, Anchorman, Talladega Nights and The Big Short) has been working on a Dick Cheney movie, and Deadline says that he is talking to Christian Bale about taking on Dick. Adam is probably talking to Daniel Day-Lewis about playing the friend that Dick Cheney accidentally shot during a quail hunt. Because DDL is the only true thespian who’d say, “I’m offended that you think I wouldn’t, sir!”,  after fellow method actor Christian Bale asks to shoot him for real during their scene.

Deadline also says that joining Christian Bale as former Vice President Dick Cheney will probably be Amy Adams as Dick’s wife Lynne and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld. Both Christian and Steve were in The Big Short. Paramount apparently just has to okay the cast and it’s a go.

It seems like this Dick Cheney movie will follow him through his grown years and that Christian Bale will play an old Dick. So if your tip got moist while watching a balding Christian Bale in American Hustle, get ready for your down-low parts to pucker once again, because he’ll probably go half-bald again to play Dick.

Adam said this last year about why he was drawn to Dick:

“I’ve always found Cheney fascinating. Questions of what drove him, what his beliefs were. But once we started digging, I was astounded at how much he had shaped modern America’s place in the world and how shocking the methods were by which he gained his power.”

There’s no title yet, but I pray that Adam doesn’t name it All About Dick. In case you couldn’t already tell from this post, I’m obsessed with dick. So every time I went to the movie theater, I’d see the words All About Dick and it would be my instinct to say, “I’m all about dick, give me one for that, please!” Even while knowing what it’s about. I wouldn’t be able to help myself. And then after sitting in the theater and finding out it’s really a movie about Dick Cheney, I’d curse Adam McKay for tricking me yet again!

And here’s the future movie Mrs. Dick Cheney shooting scenes last month in L.A. for the HBO miniseries based on Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects.
