Danny Masterson Is Reportedly Under Investigation For Rape

I don’t get into weekday morning drinking, but when I woke up to the headline, “LAPD PROBING SCIENTOLOGY AND DANNY MASTERSON FOR MULTIPLE RAPES, COVER-UP,” I nearly skipped the coffee and went straight to the booze.

Tony Ortega’s The Underground Bunker reports that several female Scientologists have gone to the LAPD to accuse Danny Masterson of That ’70s Show (seen above looking like a villain rapist police detective from a 1970s cop movie) of rape. Tony writes that one of the alleged victims went to the police after anti-Scientology warrior queen Leah Remini urged them to. But apparently, the reports have gone nowhere.

Leah tells Tony Ortega that before her A&E show Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath began airing, Scientologists and ex-Scientologists reached out to her to tell her their horror stories about the Cult of Alien Crazies. One of them (Tony calls her “Victim A” so I will too) claimed that Danny Masterson pretty much Bill Cosby’d her in 2001. She says he raped her while she was unconscious. Leah convinced Victim A to file a police report with the LAPD and that led to two more victims coming forward. Victim A said she was dating Danny at the time.

Another woman (“Victim B”), also an ex-Scientologist, filed a police report in 2004, a year after she says Danny raped her and choked her at a party filled with fellow Scientologists. She also believes Danny drugged her. That investigation supposedly went nowhere, because witnesses, who were all Scientologists, told a different story than she did. When Victim A filed a report, the LAPD re-opened Victim B’s case. A third woman (“Victim C”) also filed a police report against Danny.

Victim A says she want to the head crazies at Scientology, and they comforted her and drove her to the police station. Bitch, please. This is Scientology we’re talking about. The officials allegedly threatened to declare her a suppressive person (aka a traitor pretty much) if she went to the cops. She would’ve lost everything if she went to the police and she was scared, so she says she stayed quiet.

This story somehow manages to get even more shadier…

Victim A says that Detective Esther Reyes was assigned her case and told her that every report from Danny’s accusers have been taken off of the LAPD’s servers to avoid leaks. Detective Esther allegedly told her that many LAPD officers are friendly with Scientology so it’s best if they keep the case on the down-down-down low. Detective Esther also supposedly told her not to speak to any other detectives. Victim A claims that Detective Esther wanted her to try to get Scientology officials, or Danny himself, or Danny’s publicist to talk about the alleged assault over a recorded phone call. During a call with Danny’s publicist, Victim A says she threatened to go public unless Danny apologized to her. Detective Esther didn’t like that move and allegedly accused Victim A of ruining the entire case.

The LAPD hasn’t responded to Tony’s request for a statement. No charges against Danny Masterson have ever been filed.

Leah said this to Tony Ortega:

“I met with the LAPD. I met with Detective Reyes, and I told her these victims deserve to be heard. I pointed out to her that there was a framed picture of a Scientologist on their wall, actor Michael Peña. Do you know what that says to a young Scientologist who comes here to seek justice? My experience with the LAPD has not been good. I asked her to do the right thing by these girls, and I told her that the world is watching.”

Danny Masterson, of course, denies the allegations. In a statement to Gossip Cop, his rep pulled an extra classy move by naming the alleged victims. The rep says that Victim A is just trying to get revenge on Danny and that the second alleged victim is also lying. The rep didn’t say anything about the third alleged victim.

“We are aware of [name taken out] 16-year-old allegations. It was only after [name taken out] was in contact with Leah Remini that she made allegations of sexual assault by Mr. Masterson. The alleged incident occurred in the middle of their 6-year relationship, after which she continued to be his longtime girlfriend.

Significantly, during their relationship she made numerous inconsistent claims that she was previously raped by at least 3 other famous actors and musicians. When Danny ended the relationship she continued to pursue him, even making threats to beat up his current wife Bijou Phillips unless she left him. In fact, we are informed by the Church that the only demand [name taken out]  made of the Church after Danny broke up with her was asking for their help to intervene so the breakup would not be permanent.

We are also aware that approximately 14 years ago a woman referred to in the blog made allegations of sexual assault and that the LADP interviewed numerous witnesses and determined the claim had no merit. Based on reading the anti-Scientology blog that posted this story, these false allegations appear to be motivated to boost Leah Remini’s anti-Scientology television series since [name taken out] only came forward after connecting with Leah Remini.”

And as all of this is going on, Danny’s wife Bijou Phillips is still waiting to get a kidney transplant.

All of those words above are shocking, I know, because up until this point, we all thought that Scientology was an open, nurturing and reasonable organization. And I have three thoughts about this:

  1. WWASTAAKS? (What would anti-sex trafficking activist Ashton Kutcher say?)
  2. This means that Wilmer Valderrama is no longer the creepiest cast member of That ’70s Show.
  3. If I pour the breakfast vodka directly into my ear instead of my mouth hole, will it numb my brain faster?
